Education and Visitor Services Internships at the National Postal Museum

The National Postal Museum looks at American history through the unique lens of mail and communication, adding new and unexpected insights to those stories. This project based internship takes place within the joint Education and Visitor Services department, which interprets and makes accessible our museum content and works to improve the visitor experience in a variety of ways. The projects can vary widely each season, but follow that same core values of interpreting content and connecting it to museum visitors, online and in person. Projects in the past include developing a story time program for young children, creating a pop-up cart to bring the museum outside, creating a series of thematic self-guides, implementing an accessibility tour for visitors who are low-vision  or blind, researching and writing guides to topics to be used in programming, and .

Applications are accepted through SOLAA, choose the National Postal Museum general application and indicate Education and Visitor Services as area of interest on the application.
